UCS produced another attacking performance away to league leaders Olympique at Hamilton palace on Saturday morning.
With Harkin & Docherty injured and Mooney lost somewhere, Eldred, McNeil & Graham all came into the side that had beaten FC Inter midweek.
For the first 15 minutes it was all Bankies as they took a hold on the game. Only some good goalkeeping and poor finishing kept the scores blank as UCS and in particular Fraser Urquhart looked to build on the midweek win. Eldred had an effort cleared off the line.
Bankies should have had a penalty when an attacker was barged over in the box but the ref waved play on. At the other end Muir had two saves to make in probably the quitest 45 minutes he has had in the UCS goal.
The second half began with the hosts pressing and with Muir beaten a defender cleared off the line via the post. Olympique pressd a little more but got little out of the Bankies reargurad and on the odd occasion they did Muir was upto the task.
The game began to fizzle out and Bankeis had the upper hand but a point and a clean sheet away to the league leaders was a welcome bonus for the battling Bankies who have improved since the Xmas break.
Bankies climb a place to 8th with 13 points from 16 games.

Bankies picked up the points in this Monday night clash at the Frihill Complex.
Within three minutes they took the lead when Fraser Urquhart ran on to colin Donnelly’s through ball and slotted past the keeper. The Bankies lead was doubled when Gary Docherty’s diving header deflected into the top corner for a half time advantage.
Inter came at Bankies in the second half and pulled one back midway through the half. They should have been level when a close range effort was cleared off the line.
Clydebank had two chances to wrap the game up through subs Brodie & Eldred but they both missed.
A good win for UCS in a game that could have saw Inter go top with a win.

Bankies crashed to defeat at home to Rosehill on saturday morning at JohnBrowns.
The first half was an even affair until Rosehill took the lead with a fine 25 yard strike. Trialist Gary Docherty should have levelled on half time but h headed over form close range.
The second half started terribly wth Rosehill doubling their lead witin 90 seconds.
Bankies changed things about and got back into it when Trialsit Macca struck home from 15 yards. Eldred then struck the post as Bankies huffed and puffed.
The visitors wrapped the game up in the final minute with a classic counter attack.

The sides clashed for the fourth time this season at John Browns after Peterson park was called off on Thursday.
On a soft and bumpy park the game was a battle throughtout and it was Meadow who struck first to take the lead. Bankies were soon back in it though and Davey Steven prodded home from close range to lvel the scores. Kevin Brodie and Davie McNeil had both missed chances by this poin as the Bankies took a hold on the game for a spell.
By half time though it was Meadow who were back in front and it should have been 3-1 but the striker fired wide from close in. The third goal came early into the second half when an offside looking striker ran through to net by Joey Muir.
With an hour on the clock Steven added his and Bankies second with a fine diving header and it wasn’t long beofer Bankies were all square and Steven had his hat tirick when he headed home after Harkin’s long throw had came off the bar.
A rare error from Joey Muir saw the “home” side back in front as he totally missed the ball when attempting to clear a long pass but witin minutes a mistake by the Meadow keeper had let in Russell Eldred to level.
With three minutes left Meadow appeared to have won the match when the striker headed home from close range after a poorly defended corner but Bankies trialist right back squared things off in stoppage time when he knocked home Paul Mooney’s deep corner.

UCS played their first game in over 6 weeks in this Sunday friendly in Summerston.
Despite the scoreline it wa sa good work out for both sides. The first half was a dire affair but the second half was more open and bothe sides created several chances with Clydebank coming closest with a header off the bar.
Bankies hope to return to league action this week when they host Stow Hearts and will look to avenge the recent drubbing handed out in the league cup.

Both sides had to settle for a point and a clean sheet on Saturday morning at Netherpollok.
Bankies lost Gary Wood to injury inside the first five minutes and he was replaced by Stuart Graham. Both sides had chances but the keepers were on top altrho Joey Muir has had busier mornings in the Bankies goal.
UCS almost won iot when Harry Ross burst through but his shot was blocked by a defender. Russell Eldred then shot wide in the dying seconds.
Anderston had chances too late on with a striker firing oiver from 6 yards and a cross cum shot striking the roof of the bar but in the end it was point a piece.
Bankies host Stow Hearts in the final league cup group game next week.

UCS ran out 2-0 winners in this friendly at John Browns on Sunday.
A goal in each half from trialist Graham Stanley and Ian parker sealed a hard fought win ove rtheir taxi driving opponents.

Bankies threw away victory in this league match on Saturday morning.
The UCS dominated the first half but only went in a goal up at the break thanks to Harry Ross’ tap in after a good McNeil free kick.
The second half was a different stroy although the Bankies did start the half well and had chances to double their lead through Edmonds and Wood.
The visitors then came more into the game and equalised after a poor corner wasn’t properly cleared allowing the attacker to kncok home from 8 yards.
Joey Muir became the centre of attention with a string of class saves to keep his side level and he even had time to knock a penalty over the bar after a poor Harkin tackle was puniched by the referee.
As Bankies began to psh back they had a half chance when Eldred broke free at the edge of the box but he was quickly crowded out and the chance was gone.
Athletic ran up the park and snatched the winner. Muir saved the original shot but only the Athletic player followed in the rebound and he scored from a tight angle.

UCS chalked up their second win of the season at Faifley on Saturday.
Gary Wood headed ome the opener and the advantage as double by debutant Terry Kelly. The goals came after a period of Anderston pressure when Joey Muir pulled off a few terrific saves to defy the opposition.
Poor marking allowed Anderston to pull one back but the lead was restored when Eldred scored form the spot after the ref ruled that he was brought down by the keeper.
Anderston pulled their way back into the game before a treble substituion put the game in Bankies favour. Harry Ross knocked home from a yard out for his first goal before fellow sub Paul netted twice to wrap up the points, the second being a penalty.

UCS welcomed Meadow to Faifley for the third meetiong of the sides already this season. The previous matches had ended 2-2 and 1-1 so a tight affair seemed to be on the cards.
Bankies only had 13 players and within 5 minutes they were down to ten men, Fraser Urquhart sent off for handball on the line. Joey Muir saved the resultant penalty to give the home side a lift.
Seven minutes later however and the visitors had another spot kick after Wood tripped the attacker in the box. This time Meadow made no mistake to take the lead.
Russell Eldred had Bankies best effort when hew forced the keeper to tip over the bar. Muir kept his side in with several top notch saves as the 10 men began to grow in confidence but they found it hard to create clear cut openings with just the lone striker.
Within ten minutes of the second half, the game was over after Meadow punished two mistakes from Davie McNeil.
Bankies then lost Colin Donnelly through injury as the game slipped away from the home side. Only several more saves form Joey Muir kept the visitors out.
Eldred pulled on eback when the keeper dropped a Gary Wood free kick and he had the simplest of tasks to knock home form a yard.
